Brake fluid grades primarily follow DOT standards (compatible with ISO norms), differing in boiling point, low-temperature fluidity, and compatibility.
The main grades are DOT 3, 4, 5, and 5.1.
DOT3: Strong hydrophilicity, low boiling point, prone to thermal decay.
DOT4: Higher dry boiling point and stronger water resistance.
DOT5: The replacement cycle is very short and generally designed for racing cars.
DOT5.1: The longest replacement cycle and highest price.
